RPF rounds up nineteen drug abusers

The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has declared that the outfit will start giving severe punishment to anyone found involved in drug abuse or trafficking including drug lords.
A total of 19 drug users including a female and mostly minors rounded up by the outfit were paraded before the media somewhere in Thoubal district on Tuesday during which a spokesperson of the RPF declared that the Front and its armed wing PLA will take suitable action and punishment if drug abusers, traffickers and drug lords fail do not halt anti-social activities.
The spokesperson said that the 19 drug users rounded up on May 19 are from Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts.
While asserting that outfit since its inception as revolutionary group has been sacrificing for the society and combating anti-social activities like drug abuse, trafficking and others from the year 1988 by forming special task force, the spokesperson said that the oppressed people of Manipur should be cautious of drugs smuggled into Manipur to uproot the indigenous population particularly the Meetei.
The spokesperson of the RPF's central bureau further called upon everyone in Manipur to understand and challenge the open and secret strategies being applied in Manipur under the shadow of New Delhi's expansionism policy.
It is the responsibility of everyone in the society to make it strong and solid, the spokesperson said and appealed to CSOs, Meira Paibis and youth clubs to support the outfit's anti-drug movement.
While disclosing that the outfit has received report on ill-treatment of drug user's at some rehabilitation centres operating in the state, the spokesperson declared that the outfit will start paying special attention on such rehabilitation centres as well.
After the parade before the media, all the rounded up drug users were handed over to their respective parents and family members.
