Tengnoupal DTO Inaugurated, building assured

Moreh, November 19 2022: Transport Minister Khashim Vashum and TA & Hills minister Letpao Haokip jointly inaugurated the District Transport Office (DTO), Tengnoupal on Saturday The inauguration function organised by Department of Transport at the conference hall of the office of Tengnoupal DC was attended by ministers Letpao Haokip and Khashim Vashum, Transport secretary Michael Achom, director Dr Nevidita Lairenlakpam and Tengnoupal DC Ranjan Yumnam along with government officials, CSO representatives and village chiefs.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, minister Khashim assured that fund for construction of the building will be allocated in the next financial year.

The staff of the Transport Department have been allocated a room temporarily in the DC Complex, he informed.

Meanwhile, minister Letpao Haokip recalled that during the recent election campaign, people of Tengnoupal constituency expressed their desire to have an office of transport department apart from basic infrastructure deemed necessary for a full-fledged district.

Taking the people's aspiration into consideration the BJP government led by chief minister N Biren didthe needful to establish the DTO in the district, he explained.

The minister also assured that he will try to take up necessary initiatives for ensuring all the requirements in the district by discussing with the ministers concerned.
