Search operation conducted, arms seized

Imphal, July 17 2024:
Security forces continued to seize arms and ammunitions during combing operations conducted in different places.
According to police report, a combined team of Imphal West district police and CRPF personnel conducted search operation in Sanjenbam under Lamsang police station from 2:30 till 4 am Wednesday and recovered 52 rounds of 7.62 mm, 19 AK rounds, one INSAS round, nine .303 empty cases, one INSAS LMG magazine, two 51 mortar shells, one 2-inch para shell, one digital video recorder, two hand-sets (Boafeng) with an extra battery, a Bren-magazine, one pistol holster, a Pajero vehicle, one Bolero vehicle, two slings, seven pairs of camouflage pants, one BP vest, and one boot.
A combined team of Imphal east district police and CRPF personnel also conducted search operation at Khanarok under Irilbung police station from 4:30 to 6 am on Wednesday during which 50 houses were searched.
However, there is no report of recovery of arms or arrest.
Kangpokpi police along with CRPF personnel, meanwhile, conducted area domination patrolling around New Saikul village.
