AR aids IDPs, plantation drive

Imphal, July 10 2024: Assam Rifles provided humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in a relief camp at Sijang village on Wednesday to provide a structured environment for the rehabilitation of the IDPs while also instilling a sense of unity and solidarity.

The local people thanked Assam Rifles for their support, acknowledging the initiative as a beacon of hope, said a release of PRO IGAR (S) .

Meanwhile, Assam Rifles participated in a mass tree plantation drive organised by Chandel Forest Division on July 9 as a part of collective commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.

The plantation drive, themed 'Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam, Plant for Mother', saw participation of government departments, non-profit organisations, schools, and community groups.

It was a significant step towards community involvement in environmental conservation, said the PRO in another release.
