Bashikhong sit-in protests killing, arrest of VVs

Imphal, February 04 2025: As part of the continuing protest against the killing and arrest of village volunteers from Salungpham area in Thoubal district by police commandos, Meira Paibi of Bashikhong area staged sit-in-protest at Bashikhong Panthoibi community hall on Tuesday.

During the protest organised by Bashikhong Panthoibi Youth Club and local Meira Paibi, slogans like 'We condemn killing of village volunteer', 'Transfer SP Thoubal to either Kangpokpi or Churachandpur immediately', 'Release arrested village volunteers immediately', 'Suspend police commandos involved in killing village volunteer' and 'Repeal AFSPA from Manipur' were shouted by the protestors.

They also held placards and banners denouncing the act of the police.
