Covid awareness in remote areas of Tamenglong begins

Tamenglong, June 02 2021: In collaboration with Tamenglong district administration and Village Level Task Force of Tousem area, Tousem Area Students' Organisation (TASO) has launched an awareness campaign on Covid-19 and vaccination on Wednesday from Tamenglong district headquarters.

TASO president Nehemiah Daime told TPC that the need to make residents of remote and far flung villages of the district aware of the Covid-19 SOPs has been felt for a long time.

As cases surge in the country and in the state, it has become imperative to launch the campaign more than ever to take the step.

Besides giving awareness on following the SOPs, the villagers were also briefed on the importance of vaccination during the campaign, he said.

Nehemiah also informed that all the campaigners who took part in the campaign were tested for Covid and joined the team after confirmation and possession of negative report.

The TASO Task Force for COVID-19 covered Sibilong, Kaimai and Oinanlong villages under Tousem subdivision of Tamenglong district on the first day of the campaign.

It will further cover National Highway-37 Oinamlong segment under the jurisdiction of Tousem sub-division.

The team also distributed awareness banners and pamphlets in the villages in their languages.
