ZRO/ZRA welcomes 16 returnee cadres

Churachandpur, October 19 2021: Zomi Revolutionary Organisation/Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRO/ZRA) organised a home coming ceremony for 16 cadres who had deserted the organisation by patching up with dissident Calvin group on November 10, 2018 but have now re-joined ZRO/ZRA.

Altogether 18 cadres were supposed to attend the home coming ceremony but two were not present in person at the ceremony held in Tangnuam village from 11 am.

The programme was presided over by ZRO vice president Kenneth with KC Smack acting as recording secretary.

ZRO chaplain administered an opening remark and talked on the need to remain united.

Returnee cadre Katheos Zomi highlighted about the mercy of God and the care that has made the organisation to reach this stage despite many ups and downs.

Though the organisation is being accused of making life attempt on Lianmuanthang, the fact was that Lianmuanthang expended Rs 15 lakh for purchase of three sophisticated weapons and deputed an army officer (CO ranked) to exterminate him (Katheos Zomi) in a fake encounter after which one ex-MLA was to give the CO Rs 50 lakh as reward.

However, the plan failed and he managed to survive with the grace of God, Katheos Zomi added.

He also said that the promised extension of 6th Schedule shall be made to come true and pointed out that Calvin Would not be able to partake in any peace talks including JMG, SoO meetings while exhorting all not to be anxious about him.

And for this the KNO and the UPF have been given information, he added.

Among those who returned to mainstream in the home coming ceremony include ex-GAD secretary Hangshyanthang and he lauded the ZRO HQ for their maturity and exemplary act in pardoning them and exuded hope that the organisation will grow from strength to strength.

Another returnee and ex-finance secretary Dalthang said that he took a wrong decision and joined Calvin group out of financial problem and sheer greed for money.

KC Smack administered oath of allegiance to the returnees after reading out their names.
