KCP/PWG cadres arrested; SFs recover arms, ammos

Imphal, February 19 2025: A joint team of Thoubal district police commando and 5/9 GR led by Thoubal commando OC inspector K Nitaranjan Singh arrested two active cadres of KCP (PWG) from Leirongthel Pitra village under Nongpok Sekmai police station at 5:50 pm on Wednesday.

According to police report, the two captives are Khangembam Naotomba Singh alias Mutpa (25), son of (late) Kh Ranjit Singh of Top Siphai Awang Leikai, and Elangbam Boinao Singh alias Aboy (27), son of E Sanjoy Singh of Top Siphai Mayai Leikai.

The team also seized one Aadhaar card from E Boinao.

The arrested persons along with the seized article have been handed over to Nongpok Sekmai police station for legal action.

Meanwhile, a team of Thoubal district police along with a column of 165 TA led by Thoubal additional SP (Ops) H Devendra Singh assisted by Thoubal DSP (HQ) Y Sunanta conducted search operatioh at Irong village under Nongpok Sekmai police station and recovered cache of arms and ammunition on Wednesday.

According to police report, the search operation that began at 5 pm and lasted till 6:30 pm, led to the recovery of one SLR along with magazine, one 5.56 Rifle, two 5.56 mm magazines, four HE hand grenades, a Chinese hand grenade, five rounds of 7.62mm calibre, one tear smoke shell LR, two green smokes (80MK1), one soft nose tear smoke shell and two Baofeng radio sets along with antenna and a charger from the foothills of Irong village.
