Army observes Albinism Awareness Day

Indian Army observed International Albinism Awareness Day in the state by organising dental and medical camp for the internally displaced persons (IDPs), locals and villagers of S Kawtlian and nearby areas in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO Defence informed that the joint effort by Indian Army doctors, along with the medical and surgical specialists from District Hospital, Churachandpur provided healthcare service along with conduct of an awareness lecture.
The camp which witnessed turnout of over 257 individuals of all ages, including 87 children and 110 women, teatured a dedicated team of dental, medical officers and nursing assistants of Army alongside four ENT, surgical and medical specialists conducting comprehensive healthcare check-ups for the residents.
The release further informed that the camp also featured a medicine counter to provide essential medications post-check-up.
The awareness lecture delivered by the medical officer from the Army focused on albinism, healthcare measures, and crucial topics such as hygiene, preventive healthcare, and balanced nutrition.
A lecture and demonstration CPR and lifesaving skills was also delivered, it mentioned.
