Medicine assistance extended to Myanmar

Imphal, August 10 2021:
In view of increasing Covid-19 positivity rate in Tamu district of neighbouring country Myanmar; Covid Response Team and Seva Bharati Manipur along with Shanatan Dharma Sevak Sangha Myanmar extended medicines and other safety items for fighting Covid-19 .
to Myanmar on Monday.
In a joint release, Covid Response Team and Seva Bharati Manipur informed that medicines and other safety items including PPEs have been provided to Tamu District Level Covid-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment Committee, Myanmar.
The handing over of items was attended by RSS Manipur Prant pracharak Mrityunjaya, Sanatan Dharam Sevak Sangha Myanmar advisor V Sekhar, Meitei Council Moreh president Thoiba Singh and Seva Bharati karyakartas.
Later, the team also met leaders of Gorkha Sarnaj, which is a Nepali organi sation based in Tamu, and handed over the items at Gorkha Dharmasala.
Highlighting their (team) desire to help in vaccination, the team also said that they will discuss with the state and central governments on what they could do for them.
Moreover, medicines were also distributed to Leibi Khul in Tengnoupal district in the presence of the village chief.
The medicines and safety items brought by the team were also handed over to Shanatan Dharma Sevak Sangha Myanmar, Meitei Council Moreh and Tamil Sangam Moreh for further distribution to the Myanmar Indo Meitei Group and various communities residing in Moreh.
Lauding the team for extending help during these troubled times of Covid-19, Tamu doctors presented a certificate of appreciation to the team.
