Imphal, September 05 2024:
RPI-A state president Bishorjit Konthoujam has strongly condemned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the recent drone bombing carried out by Kuki militants which claimed life of a married woman and injured scores including a journalist and civilians.
Addressing the media at party's office on Thursday, Bishorjit said that carrying out such drone bombing means they could easily reach the densely populated Imphal.
The government should take up appropriate action to prevent similar incidents in future.
It is uncalled for the Prime Minister to remain silent even when the situation has got this serious, he said.
He also hit out against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for not uttering a single word on the recent drone bombing and asked why Rahul Gandhi, as the leader of the opposition, is not mounting pressure on the government.
He also asked the two MPs of the state why they are not saying anything.
Bishorjit further slammed the state government suggesting that it should stop saying whatever it suits them.
Sometimes, the state government would say that peace has prevailed and sometimes, it would say otherwise.
He demanded the government to make its stand clear and show it by action.
