Hailstorm-hit VDF families aided

Kakching, May 27 2024: VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal district on Monday distributed financial assistance to families of 86 VDF personnel of Thoubal district, whose houses were damaged in the recent hailstorm that hit the state on May 5 .

The financial assistance of Rs 1.72 lakh, utilised from the association's'welfare fund, was distributed to the affected VDF personnel in a function held at Thoubal district police headquarters in the presence of Thoubal SP Rakesh Balwal, additional SP (LO) Suraj, RI, RO and ARO of DHQ Thoubal, and association leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, association president Md Id-rish highlighted the hardships of the VDF personnel, whose houses were damaged in the recent hailstorm, stating that they are already facing financial pressure due to low honorarium, He drew attention of the chief minister for addressing hardships faced by the VDF personnel.
