Kakching, April 27 2025: The 23rd foundation day of Macha Chanu, Kakching, an organisation of women writers, was held at Library and Information Centre auditorium, Kakching Phoushupat Leikai on Sunday.

The programme was attended by Padma Shree Moirangthem Muktamani, Kakching Higher Secondary School retired principal Kshetrimayum Manihal Devi and Kunjalata Dance Performing and Research Centre, Kakching guru Kshetrimayum Kunjalata Devi as chief guest, president and guest of honour, respectively.

During the function, scribes of Kakching district, who have served for over 10 years in the field of journalism including Sanjay Wangjamcha of The People's Chronicle, Gotimayum Joychandra and Thokchom Jayanta Meitei of Image TV, Naorem Gyanand of Hueiyen Lanpao and Nameirakpam Goutam of DD News, Imphal, were felicitated with cash, shawls and citations.

A book titled 'Manipur Ningthourolgi Wari Khara-Volume I' written by Macha Chanu president Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini of Kakching Makha Leikai Rajdhani Pareng was also released on the occasion.
