Restrictions imposed for second phase polls

Imphal, April 23 2024:
As the Outer Manipur (ST) parliamentary constituency Lok Sabha election is scheduled on April 26, Jiribam district election officer (DEO) issued notices for smooth conduct of the polls.
In separate notices, Jiribam DEO Krishma Kumar prohibited sale of liquor and other substances within the polling areas of Jiribam district from 4 pm of April 24 till the completion of polling for free and fair conduct of election.
The restriction shall also be implemented on the day of counting i.e.on June 4, he added.
The DEO issued restriction on presence of political functionaries in Jiribam under Outer Manipur (ST) parliamentary constituency and publication and dissemination of result of exit polls by means of print and electronic media or disseminate in any other manner within Jiribam district from 4 pm of April 24 till the completion of the election process.
The DEO further notified all departments of state and central government that no wages and other benefits should be disbursed under government scheme before 72 hours of the day of the polling i.e., from 4 pm of April 24 .
Krishma Kumar in another notice informed that the dispersal of polling parties and security personnel is scheduled to take place on April 25 from 8 am for which parties concerned shall assemble at the dispersal centre located at Jiribam DC office complex from 7.45 am on April 25 .
