Staff shortage aired at PHC anniversary event

The 46th foundation day of Wangoo Laipham Primary Heath Centre (PHC) was celebrated by Hospital Management Committee of the health centre at its conference hall, on Tuesday.
The function was attended by Committee chairman L Sharat alias Tona Meetei, PHC medical officer in-charge L Inaocha, committee advisors L Khelchandra and A Maimu, doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, para medical staff, nurses of the Health and Wellness Centres affiliated to the PHC.
Speaking on the occasion, L Inaocha pointed out that in-spite of manpower shortage hindering effective implementation of various programme, the PHC continues to serve in the interest of the public with the existing workforce.
He also appealed to authorities concerned to address shortage of ASHA workers at the PHC and exhorted doctors and nurses to continue rendering dedicated service to the public.
As a part of the celebration, three staff members of the PHC were honoured with presentation of gifts in recognition of their dedicated service.
Hospital Management Committee member Th Dhamen was also felicitated on the occasion.
