All Jiribam Muslim Welfare Society (AJMWS) has condemned the recent murder of Soibam Saratkumar of Gularthol, Jiribam on June 6, and the abduction of L Thiang-muang from Dibong Khunou by unknown miscreants, followed by escalating tensions between Kuki and Meetei communities in Jiribam district.

While calling upon the district administration and the state government to identify and bring the perpetrators of these violent acts to justice, the Society emphasised the urgent need for strong legal actions to be taken in the interest of Jiribam denizens.
Additionally, it appealed to the peace committee of Jiribam to intervene and restore the long-standing peace and tranquillity in the district.
It has been reported that many innocent residents of Jiribam are abandoning their properties due to fear of the ongoing clashes, the statement said and lamented the state government's failure to provide adequate security to the citizens, which has forced them to take such drastic measures to ensure their safety.
The society urged Kuki and Meetei communities, 'both highly educated and respected across India', to restore peace and harmony in Jiribam and the entire state of Manipur.
They emphasised the importance of living together peacefully, preserving lives and properties.
In conclusion, the AJMWS appealed to the state government to implement preventive measures promptly to safeguard the dignity and safety of Jiribam's residents.
