Students demand four-year degree course under NEP

Imphal, February 08 2025: Liberal college students staged a human chain protest in front of the college-located at Luwangsangbam demanding implementation of four-year degree course (7th and 8th semester) under National Education Policy and save the career of the students.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, College Students' Union general secretary Pangeijam Mangalsana pointed out that the four-year degree course is yet to be introduced despite the implementation of NEP, 2020 in the state.

She urged the government to protect students' careers, criticising its indifference to the issue.

Mangalsana also condemned the education director and commissioner for their failure to address the matter and called for their removal.

Similarly, she encouraged teachers to consider voluntary retirement if they are unable to teach students effectively.
