Chandel Nagas bat for self-rule based on FA

The decennial commemoration of the Framework Agreement (FA) signed between Government of India and National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) on August 3, 2015, was organised by Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO), a joint body of Naga tribes of Chandel, at Panchai village community hall on Sunday.
The commemorative event was organised by CNPO on behalf of the 11 Naga tribes settling in Chandel district, namely, Anal, Aimol, Cho the, Khoibu, Kom, Lamkang, Maring, Monsang, Moyon, Tangkhul and Tarao to reaffirm its unwavering commitment, steadfast and constant support for lasting solution to Nagas' quest for self-determination based on FA .

The Naga body further asserted that its demands for solution to the Naga political issue based on FA, halt coercive construction of border fencing, revoke scraping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and recognition of Naga constitution and Naga flag should be upheld and ceded at the earliest.
The event was also attended by executives/leaders of 11 Naga Tribe Hohos, All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM), Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) & its units, tribe women unions, Naga Chiefs' Association Chandel, Chandel Naga Christian Forum (CNCF), and well-wishers.
A special mass prayer for Naga leaders and FA was led by CNCF president reverend Shonnai Saka.
For the first time, the FA was translated into dialects of the 11 Naga tribes by the Tribe Hoho concerned and read out in Sunday's services in village churches across the district.
