GOC flags off national integration tour

Imphal, November 02 2024:
A National Integration Tour (NIT) of 20 students including 14 girls accompanied by two teachers of Sacred Heart School, Yambem was flagged off by GOC Red Shield Division, major general SS Kartikeya from Koirengei on Saturday.
In a release, PRO defence informed that the students represent the villages of Andro, Yairipok, Yambem, Changamdabi and Angtha.
The GOC was accompanied by Red Shield Division Family Welfare Organisation chairperson.
During the ceremony the GOC interacted with the students and asked them to draw maximum learning from the experience, it added.
The release further informed that the tour, being organised under Operation Sadbhavana, is scheduled to visit Delhi, Agra, and Lucknow, with the objective to foster national unity and promote cultural understanding.
During the 10-day tour, the students are scheduled to interact with the President of India and senior military officers while experiencing the nation s rich cultural heritage and visiting significant historical and educational sites.
The group is scheduled to return to Imphal on November 12, it added.
