14 Congress workers, one NEIDP member join BJP

Imphal, September 02 2021: In all, 14 Congress workers including executives of Block Congress Committee (BCC), Phungyar A/C and a member of NEIDP have joined the BJP on Thursday.

The new BJP members are Jonah Shinglai (District Member Committee Treasurer Lairam Khullen), MC Hormi (BCC Kangkum), Vipson (District Congress Committee Itham), Yangmi Nakhedei (BCC K Langli), MC Candid (Youth Assembly Congress Committee Alang general secretary), Wungnaongam Keishing (Youth Assembly Congress Committee VP Nambashi Khullen), Worngam Siro (Shingkap), Chihanshang Siro (Youth Assembly Congress Committee Alang), Chanchan Ningshen (Alang), Obed Chithung (Kangpat), Thotchuishang Keishing (Youth Assembly Congress Committee Kangkum), Ngaranmi Malung (Bungpa), Ninglum Keishing (Patbung), AS Thomas (Youth Assembly Congress Committee Maileng) and Nganaomi Kasar of NEIDP.

A welcoming ceremony of the newly joined BJP members was held at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP here.

Speaking on th.e occasion, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda said that people trust party because of the initiatives taken up by the BJP led government.

Many members from other political parties have also expressed their wishes to join BJP, she added.

Former INC district member Jonah Shinglai contended that PhungyarA/C is backward as compared to other constituencies in the state.

So, in a bid to change and develop Phungyar A/C, he joined BJP, he said, while lauding the initiatives taken up by BJP for the youth in particular.
