'Ritual festival of vaccination' begins

Imphal, July 24 2021: A two-day long vaccination programme entitled 'Ritual festival of vaccination' kicked off on Saturday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.

The vaccination programme is being organised jointly by the Manipur chapter of Association of Health Care Provider India (AHPI), National Health Mission Manipur, Theatre Centre Manipur, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, Film Forum Manipur, All Manipur Artistes' Relief Committee and All Manipur Matam Eshei Kanglup under the aegis of the Government of Manipur.

According to AHPI Manipur chapter president Kh Palin, target of the two-day long vaccination programme is 1,500 people but the organisers are preparing to administer COVID-19 vac-cine to more people.

Artistes and their family members could vaccinate during the programme but organisers will welcome anybody who is yet to be vaccinated.

He also appealed to people of the state to get vaccinated against COVID-19 so that the state could be free from the virus.
