Training on immunisation, leprosy prevention held

Noney, February 19 2025: The District Level Capacity Building/Training Programme on Improved and Inclusive Routine Immunization (RI) Handbook and Micro-planning, AEFI, and Cold Chain (e-VIN) for medical officers, DPMU, BPMU, CCHs, and CHOs, organised by the District Health Society, Noney, concluded on Wednesday at NG Memorial Hall, Longmai Town, here.

Dr D Pao (World Health Organization), Abdul Kasim (UNDP), GG Stephen (UNICEF), and Dr Jendum Golmei (district immunization officer, Noney) delivered lectures during the training programme.

Key topics covered included Cold Chain Management & e-VIN, Planning and Conducting Immunization Sessions, Headcount Surveys, School Vaccination, Communication in Routine Immunization, Supervision and Monitoring, and the Introduction of RI Microplanning.

More than 42 healthcare workers from Noney district participated in the programme.

On the other-hand, as part of the nationwide campaign to reduce stigma and social discrimination associated with leprosy, District Health Society Leprosy Unit, Noney, organised a Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign oh Wednesday at Berean Baptist Academy, Khumji Bazar in Noney district.

The event featured lectures by Md Majid Ali, state programme coordinator NLEP, and Dr Azin Maringmei, district leprosy officer Noney.

The programme was assisted by Nasir Khan, bill clerk National Leprosy Eradication Programme, Manipur.
