8th position holder Anjali felicitated

Thoubal, May 14 2024: Mutum Anjali Devi of Chandrakhong Maning Leikai in Thoubal district, who secured the 8th position in science stream of the high er secondary examination (HSE) conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM), was honoured by Chandrakhong denizens at her home on Tuesday.

Anjali, a student of Vision Creative School of Science in Thoubal Okram, is the daughter of Mutum Arun Singh and Naocha Devi, both daily wagers.

She is the first student from the village to achieve such a position in the HSE.

Addressing the gathering, Anjali shared that she was raised by her parents, who earn livelihood through sand mining and other odd jobs.

Despite facing challenges during the ethnic crisis in the state, she was accommodated in the hostel of Vision Creative School of Science, where she received care and support from the teachers and staff.

The school principal also provided necessary mental and financial assistance.

She expressed her aspiration to pursue a career in medicine and become a doctor in the future.
