Six arrested; weapons, vehicles recovered

Imphal, August 10 2025:
Security forces arrested four individuals involved in extortion from shops and public of Telipati area, from near Telipati Hanuman Mandir on Friday.
A release issued by Manipur Police Control Room identified the four as Oinam Laleiba Meitei (23), Konjengbam Bungka (34) and Oinam Sanjoy (30), all of Wangkhei Khunou, Imphal East district, and Laishram Yaiphaba Singh (31) of New Checkon.
Two Honda Activa scooters were recovered from their possession.
According to the Control Room, security forces also arrested a cadre of the proscribed RPF/PLA, identified as Heikrujam Lanjenba Meitei alias Ningthouba (19) of Andro Kharam Changathel, from Huikap Makha Leikai along with a mobile phone.
On August 6, a cadre of the proscribed KCP (PWG) identified as Heigrujam Daya Meitei alias Prem alias Luchingba (32) of Khongjom Sapam Mamang Leikai was rounded up from Moidangpok Maning Leikai.
He was reportedly involved in extorting money from the public and in settling cases related to crimes against women through intimidation.
A mobile handset along with a SIM card was seized from him.
On the other-hand, security forces recovered one each .303 rifle, 9mm pistol with magazine and eight rounds, .32 pistol, 12-bore ammunition, rubber bullets, tactical knife, bulletproof helmet (patka), bulletproof vest, two HE hand grenades with detonators, tear smoke shells, SLR magazines, wireless set, 203 rounds of .303 calibre, seven high-density cartridge rounds, and four .303 rifle charging plates from Langol Usoi Maknong.
From the Pheirembam Patton area under Moirang police station, security forces recovered a DBBL gun, country-made 9mm pistol with magazine, one 51 mm mortar HE shell, four magazines of different weapons, three No.36 hand grenades with two detonators, nine tear smoke shells, three 9mm rounds, and five empty 9mm cartridges.
Similarly, from Lousi Pat Chingkhok area under Kakching police station, security forces recovered an INSAS rifle,, one single-barrel rifle, a locally made pistol, 51 mortar shells, a bulletproof vest, a magazine pouch, a Baofeng radio, 15 AK rifle rounds, 20 INSAS rounds, 25 rounds of .303, two PEK explosive packets (Class 2.1) with detonators, two bulletproof plates, four empty magazines, and a charger.
