Meetei Yening Hunba Numit observed

Recognising the significance of.
the third day of Kalen month in the lunar Manipuri calendar observed as Meetei Yening Hunba Numit, Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) organised a programme at Leiningthou Sanamahi Shanglen, Haying Khongbal Ukhong Yumpham, located within the 1st MR complex, here, on Friday.
After Naoriyo Phulo re-awakened the spirit of the Meeteis, seven Meetei pioneers namely Takhellambam Bokul, Pukhrambam Surchandra, Ibomcha, Angom Nungshirei, Angom Lila, Lukram Iboton and Toijam Yiama took the pledge of safeguarding the Meeteis and promoting Meetei language on the 3rd day of the Kalen month at Wangkhei Thambalkhong.
In remembrance of this day, people paid floral tributes as a sign of respect to them.
LSBT has decided to commemorate the day annually to guide the youth of the state towards the right path.
The event was attended by LSBT advisor Moirangthem Naodalenkhomba.
