Arms, ammos recovered in search operation

Imphal, November 08 2024: Search operation conducted on Friday morning in Laimanai Laimaton Ching area of Kakching district by a combined team of the Kakching CDO, Waikhong police station, and E-Coy 8 BN BSF, led to the recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition, and military equipment.

According to police, the joint team discovered a white plastic bag hidden in the secluded area, which on opening was found to contain a tear gas gun, a country-made 9mm pistol with magazine, two carbine magazines, a hand grenade, a detonator, three rounds of 9mm cartridges, two rounds M-16 rifle, several casings of .303 and AK rifles, eight tear smoke shells, a Baofeng radio set with charger, a helmet, a pair of hand gloves, a military belt, a sling, a magazine pouch, jungle boots, and a pair of grey-coloured socks.

A case has been registered in this connection at Waikhong police station.
