Food processing training begins at Nongada

Imphal, August 02 2025: A week-long training programme on food processing, organised by the Social Development Society, Khurkhul, under the aegis of the Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries, commenced at Nongada Makha Leikai on Saturday: The inaugural function was attended by Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha, District Industries Centre (DIC) Imphal West general manager A Loken, Direc torate of Trade, Commerce and Industries OSD W Gojen and other dignitaries.

In his address, MLA Kh Ibomcha stated that the training initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the local economy and equip residents of Lamlai assembly constituency with skills in various sectors.

He mentioned that similar training programmes are planned to be conducted in different parts of the Constituency.

He urged participants to actively engage in the training and utilise the knowledge gained to start small-scale food processing ventures from their homes.

Success stories from the initiative, the MLA said, would inspire others to follow suit and contribute to the economic development of the region.
