Naga bodies come out strongly against murder of women, kids Humanity has been battered : TNL

The Rongmei Naga People's Organization (RNPO) of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland has condemned the "brutal killing" of three minor kids and three women of Meitei community after they were abducted by 'suspected Kuki-Zo militants' from a relief camp at Jakuradhor in Jiribam on November 11, 2024 .
The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Naga Women's Union (NWU), Rongmei Naga People Organisation (RNPO) of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland and the Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO), meanwhile, have expressed concern over the growing magnitude of violence in Manipur.
While TNL said that the spate of brutal killings in the last few days in Jiribam has battered the 'spirit of humanity in us', CNPO prayed for peace among all communities living in the State.

In a statement issued today, the Rongmei body said that the three women and three minor kids including an infant were killed "mercilessly" after they were abducted and the bodies were dumped in Barak and Jiri Rivers.
RNPO said that women and children are protected from killing and atrocities by international laws like International Red Cross Society (IRCS), Human Rights Law, Geneva Convention etc.

The recent killings of a Hmar woman by suspected valley militants and six Meiteis including three minor kids by suspected Kuki-Zo militants in Jiribam should be condemned by all right-thinking people, RNPO added.
RNPO said they condemn all forms of violence whether by Kuki-Zomi-Hmar, Meiteis or by Nagas.
Appealing to both the conflicting parties to shun violence and resolve the conflict through dialogue, RNPO urged both the Government of India and the State Government to show political will and resolve the protracted conflict between the Kuki-Zomi-Hmar and Meitei communities.
NWU
NWU, on the other hand, said that creating social disorganization by killing women, children and old citizens at the whims of emotional satisfaction is a crime.
In a statement, the Naga Women's Union (NWU) expressed profound sorrow over the "horrific cold blooded" murders of women and children during the course of conflict in Manipur.
The NWU said that the unremorseful killing of children and women has imprinted a sentimental state of fear to many people.
The Union said it is a crime to create social disorganization by killing women, children and senior citizens at the whims of emotional satisfaction.
Selection of innocent children and women as hostages and killing them mercilessly to show retaliation mode is an act of cowardice, it stated.
Appealing to armed groups of both Meitei and Kuki communities to refrain from sexually assaulting and killing children and women, NWU added that the tendency of aggression and instincts of dominance are to be repealed as immediate means to bring normalcy in Manipur.
The NWU also said that saving children and women should be the top priority when responding to conflict and war.
The NWU also appealed to "all women and sisters of warring groups" to stay calm withstanding the violent situations.

TNL, in a statement signed by its vice president RS Jollyson, said that killing of helpless and innocent children and women has no place in a civilised human society.
"Let us be human enough to remember that in killing them the way they were killed, we have only massacred the soul of humanity in us," TNL said and added that there is no justification whatsoever for killing helpless innocent women and children.

CNPO condemned the 'rape, torture and murder of innocent and helpless women' .
Violence against innocent children and women is not only barbaric but also an act of cowardice, it said and added that the growing magnitude of violence on account of the ethnic conflict besieging Manipur has gone from bad to worse unabated.
While praying for peace among all communities residing in Manipur, CNPO said that they will constantly support the principle of peaceful coexistence.
