The JACs formed in connection with the killing of Rabina and Sanjit have decided to join hands in fighting for justice and continue to stand together until fulfilment of the public demands.
Announcing this during a joint press conference at the Khurai Sajor Leikai residence of slain Sanjit today, convenor of JAC Sanjit, Khurai Th Anita Devi said that the decision has been taken to give more force to the ongoing public agitation.
She assured that the two JACs would never compromise with the Government over the public demands or accept any monetary offer and job from the side of the Government.
Demanding an inquiry into all the Gallantry awards that have been awarded to the State police personnel during the last 8 years of SPF Government rule in Manipur since 2002, Anita reiterated that the two JACs would not budge from their respective stand until justice is delivered.
Informing that the joint memorial service of the two victims would be organised along completion of two months of the Khwairamband Bazar incident, the convenor also declared that the two JAC would be extending full support to the 60-hour general strike being called by the Apunba Lup with effect from midnight today.
Later during the day, members of the two JACs set aflame the effigy of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh amidst shouting slogans demanding his resignation on moral ground over the Khwairamband Bazar incident and punishment of the involved police commandos.
