BJP Nungba Mandal alleges Gaidon Kamei of working against BJP

Imphal, November 16 2021: BJP Nungba Mandal has alleged Gaidon Kamei of working against the interest of the party from which he is preparing to contest the election from.

Makuphun Rongmei, president, BJP Nungba Mandal, made the allegation while speaking to media at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today and added that former president of UNC Gaidon Kamei has been working against the interest of BJP since September 2020.Recently he also took part in a bike rally on November 12 organised by an organisation called the Progressive Youth Forum, Longmai in various places including Thangal, Tongjei Maril and Khoupum.

However, neither Gaidon Kamei nor the Progressive Youth Forum, Longmai had taken permission from relevant Government authority for the said bike rally, Makuphun Rongmei added.

The organizer of the bike rally also did not informed or took permission for the used of party banners and flag in the rally, he told the media.

The rally was obstructed by locals of Khoupum and a FIR was filed at Khoupum Police Station by Gaidon Kamei.

The FIR had named 26 executives of BJP Nungba Mandal including Makuphun Rongmei as perpetrators in the incidents, he added.

However, Makuphun Rongmei clarified that on the day of the incident, he was at Imphal and he had neither taken part in obstructing the bike rally nor did he give any directions for it to be stopped.

Makuphun Rongmei appealed to the party leaders to look into the matter and reconsider the approach of people like Gaidon Kamei who works against the party in order to prevent such incidents in future.

Speaking at the press conference, Sangamlung, secretary of Nungba Kendra Citizens Forum (NKCF) said during the presidency of Gaidon Kamei in UNC, Manipur witnessed 139 days long economic blockade wherein public properties including goods laden trucks were burnt.

Sangamlung alleged that Gaidon Kamei had also worked to disrupt the relationship between various communities of the State.

He questioned how such an individual who is against the people of the State will be elected to the Assembly.

He also appealed to the public of Nungba AC not to support Gaidon Kamei who was an agent of NPF during the MP election.
