The State unit of the Shiv Sena has urged the State Government to convene an all political party meeting soon after May 3 to discuss which places in Manipur should continue with the lockdown and places where the lockdown can be lifted.
Significantly the Nationwide lockdown is scheduled to be lifted on May 4 .
Speaking to reporters at his office at Babupara today, State unit president of the party Moirangthem Tombi said that if the National lockdown had not been enforced, COVID-19 could have taken a much heavier toll and acknowledged the decision of the Prime Minister.

It is fortunate that Manipur has had only two positive cases of COVID-19 with no further infection, he noted and added the lockdown has started to be eased in different sectors.
Taking note of the difficulties faced by the people, M Tombi noted that students have not been able to attend classes for two months now and daily wage earners have been left in the lurch.
Moreover, many people from Manipur are stranded outside the State.
Thus, it is important for the Government to convene an all political party meeting after May 3 to discuss on ways to keep the virus at bay and also at the same time ensure that the sufferings of the people are eased to a certain extent.
M Tombi also distributed essentials to barbers, those working in bakeries and other non-local labourers who live near Babupara today.
