The Governor Ved Marwah today emphasized on toning up the police administration and urged all the police officers to be more professional.
He was addressing the state police officers during a meeting held in the banquet hall of 1st Manipur Rifles at 11 am.
He also interacted with officers of various ranks to find out their difficulties and suggestions for improving the police image.
He said the police is there precisely to safeguard the lives and properties of the people, and it must make it a point never to come in the way of the interest of the people.
He told the gathering that he would lime to see the Manipur police department stronger in the areas of criminal investigations.
Investigative skill is vital for any police organizations, he said.
The Governor, expressed dissatisfaction at the number of criminal cases pending to investigated and piling up with the police department.
He also promised to look into the shortage of infrastructure that the police department is stymied with.
He also urged the department to give all it has to improve the law and order situation in the state.
Among those present at the gathering were DGP, AA Siddiqui, IGs, DIGs, SPs, COs and Addl, SPs and Dy COs.
The Governor also listened to the grievances of the police department, and promised to look into them.
