Body rues Delhi meet sans Meitei-Pangal MLA

Imphal, October 15 2024: All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) president SM Jalal expressed disappointment over non-inclusion of Meitei-Pangal MLA in the meeting between Union Home Minister and Meetei, Kuki, and Naga MLAs for resolving the ongoing conflict and restoring peace in the state.

Speaking to media persons at his Hatta residence on Tuesday, Jalal commended initiative of the Union Home Minister for convening a peace meeting with elected representatives of Meetei, Kuki and Naga to end the conflict raging for over 16 months.

However, the meet ing held without the presence of even a single Meitei-Pangal MLA is unfortunate, he said, while confiding that a letter will be submitted to Union Home Minister for inviting Meitei-Pangal MLAs in future meetings.

While pointing out that Meitei-Pangal community has been taking all necessary measures for restoration of peace and normalcy, he asserted that the community will stand firm to fight all elements scheming against integrity of Manipur.
