Traffic police launch eviction drive on Tiddim road

Imphal, February 19 2025: Traffic Control Police Wing (TCPW) led by its SP Pramesh Arambam on Wednesday carried out drive against stacking construction materials and running shops on the footpath along the Tiddim road.

SP Pramesh also warned of initiating punitive action against all concerned in case no parking sign boards are put up without authorisation.

Speaking to media persons in connection with the drive, the officer pointed out that stacking of construction materials or any items and extension of shops on to the footpath not only obstruct movement of pedestrians, but also often leads to accidents and traffic congestion.

As such, traffic police have taken up an anti-encroachment drive along the Tiddim road starting from Keishampat Junction, he said.

Pramesh also advised vehicle owners to park their vehicles properly, pedestrians to use the footpath and shops not to encroach on the footpath.

Cautioning home and shop owners not to place unauthorised no park ing signboard in front of their houses or shops, he also informed that from Wednesday onwards such drives will be conducted in various parts of Imphal.

The SP reiterated that people should voluntarily remove their properties and shops from footpaths during the drive, while appealing to the public to support the drive carried out for their welfare.
