MLR Haupu dedicates Multi Utility Centre, school building

Churachandpur, December 13 2021: Singhat (Singngat) MLA GS Haupu, who is also chairman of MANIREDA/MTDC, attended the Lungchin Village Winter Meet 2021 as chief guest and inaugurated the Multi Utility Centre and building of the village's Government High School constructed under the Border Area Development Programme.

The MLA was accompanied by zonal education officer N Chingkhei, Singhat DI Kapneithang and his staff besides others.

During the meet, the village chief sought the MLA's help in construction of water supply, village community hall, primary health centre and improvement of the road leading to the village.

GS Haupu expressed regret over the absence of headmaster and staff at the village's Government High School and announced that they were placed under suspension soon after the inauguration of the school.

Goerge K Zou, advocate and social worker, during his speech lauded MLA GS Haupu, calling him an MLA with a difference who has the habit of giving and helping paupers.

ZEO N Chingkhei, during his speech, expressed his regret over the school headmaster's failure to attend inauguration of the school building.

MLA Haupu stated that equal attention has been given in terms of development of Guite area and Sangaikot area while reminding the gathering that even Suangdoh sub-division has been created.

He further said that crores of rupees have been brought in for the development of Guite road as it is lengthy and wide, adding that a proposal for construction of Navodaya School is being made and the work is about to start.

The MLA has also highlighted certain development schemes related to education, water supply and road communication he is planning to take up.

After completing his Lungchin village programme, the MLA proceeded to Tuikuimuallum village and inaugurated a new building oi Tuikuimuallum Primary School, which was constructed under BADP.

The inaugural programme, attended by ZEO Churachandpur N Chingkhei as special guest, was followed by inauguration of Type-II Quarter Building of PHSC with CMO Churachandpur District Hospital Dr VC Pau attending as special guest.

Mention may be made here that the Type II Quarter was constructed through MDS fund with NABARD as funding agency.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 17 lakh.

However, it is reliably learnt that even a single paise of the fund has not been provided although it was inaugurated on Monday due to the MLA's concern.

After inaugurating the Type II PHSC Quarter, MLA Haupu handed over two wheelchairs for use by needy patients through the CMO of Churachandpur District Hospital.

During his public address after the inauguration, GS Haupu MLA spelt out his plan to make development more equitable to all the people of the region.
