Symposium conducted, saplings planted

Imphal, June 12 2024:
The Environmental Club of Manipur College along with the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change organised a college level symposium on the UN theme of World Environment Day, 2024 'Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience' on Wednesday with Manipur College Teachers' Association president Dr S Banamali Devi as chief guest, College principal Dr W Shambhunath Singh as president and Environmental Club president Dr Th Premita Devi as guest of honour and participation of students of the college in large number.
Meanwhile, Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Manipur organised an awareness programme along with tree plantation campaign as a part of World Environment Day observance at Heinoubok community hall in Bishnupur district on Tuesday.
In a release, IDS informed that the awareness programme was attended by environmentalist Dr Kh Shamungou Singh, CCDU (retired) director Rk Dilip Singh, Manipur University professor N Damudor Singh, ICM (retired) director Dr Kh Somorendro Singh, lecturer (retired) Th Premkumar Singh, CBWE Government of India (retired) director W Iboyaima Singh, Irengbam GP pradhan I Gopen Singh arid elected member M Sanatomba Singh.
In all, 120 fruit-bearing tree saplings were planted around the campus of Heinoubok Awangkhul Primary School.
