National seminar on environment begins

A two-day national seminar on "Environment Pollution and Its Impacts on Public Health: Issues and Challenges" commenced at S Kula Women's College, Nambol on Friday.
Speaking at the event, Environment and Climate Change (E&CC) director Dr T Brajakumar reminded that human beings should share the responsibility of protecting the environment and safeguarding the Earth from further degeneration for the sake of the future generations.
He further drew the attention of the gathering to the growing need for safeguarding the environment against all forms of challenges, especially in the face of emerging climate variability.
Among others, the dignitaries included DM College of Science former principal G Tomba Sharma, Public Health Aveofit Vasant Bihar, New Delhi executive director Dr Phungreiso Varu, JNIMS Community Medicine associate professor Dr H Nirendrakumar Singh, Science Teachers' Forum, Manipur general secretary Ksh Sana-hal Singh and College principal Dr W Robindro Singh.
The seminar was organised by Department of Sociology and IQAC of S Kula Women's College under the sponsorship of ICSSR, New Delhi.
