Police host peace meeting in Moreh

Imphal, February 04 2025:
In an effort to restore peace and normalcy in the border town of Moreh, a peace meeting was hosted by Moreh police at the police station on Tuesday at 3 pm.
The meeting was co-chaired by additional SP (Ops) Md Riyajuddin and officer-in-charge of Moreh PS Md Salauddin.
During the meeting, police officials urged members of different communities in Moreh to extend their cooperation in capturing the biometric details of Myanmar residents entering the state.
They also sought assistance in identifying and arresting individuals involved in thefts targeting abandoned houses of Meeteis.
The police further requested that civilians refrain from interfering in law enforcement activities carried out by security forces.
The meeting was attended by leaders of various community-based organisations in Moreh, including the Hill Tribal Council, Kuki Women's Organisation for Human Rights, Kuki Students' organisation, Tamil Sangam, Gorkha Samaj Samiti, and Manipuri Muslim Council.
The representatives present assured the police of their full cooperation in maintaining law and order in the town.
