Five cadres of proscribed outfits arrested

Imphal, August 03 2025: Security forces have arrested five cadres of different armed organisations in continued cordon and search operations across the state.

According to Manipur Police Control Room, security forces arrested a cadre of the proscribed KCP (MFL) identified as Yaikhom Moramba Singh (21) of Khurai Heigrumakhohg Konsam Leikai from Mantripukhri on August 1 .

He was involved in extortion from public and snatching of arms and ammunition from state force.

A mobile phone, Aadhaar card and Rs 10,000 were recovered from him.

The second arrest was made by a police team when self-styled major of KCP identified as Wahengbam Israel alias Chalamba (47) of Patsoi Part 1 was rounded.up from Langol Type-II on the charge of threatening public, government officials and electedmembers of Gram Panchayat in Bishnupur district.

One mobile phone with a SIM card was seized.

On Saturday, two cadres of PREPAK (Pro) were arrested from Heirok Uyok Ching area.

They have been identified as Abujam Hemchandra Singh (35) alias Naoba alias Pandamba of Heirok Part-III Kabo Leikai and Khundongbam Suresh Singh (19) alias Maimu of Heirok Part-III Laishram Leikai.

Two pistols with magazines, seven rounds, two-wheeler Hero maestro scooter, three mobile phones, four SIM cards and an Aadhaar card were seized from them.

A cadre of KCP (PWG) identified as Ngangbam Amarjit Singh alias Nono (37) of Lairikyengbam Makha Leikai was also arrested from his residence.

He was involved in extortion from public, and mediating cases related to crimes against women and land disputes in valley area through intimidation.

He was also involved in abduction of a doctor.

From his possession a mobile phone and Aadhaar card were seized, the release added.
