Police continue crackdown against liquor sale

Imphal, June 29 2021: In continuation of its drive against sale and consumption of liquor, Imphal West District Police seized huge quantity of illicit liquor and arrested many people in this regard on Tuesday.

According to reports, a police commando team led by SI Amarjit Singh raided houses of H Sarat Singh (52), son of late H Ningthem of Mayaikoibi and Chongtham Inaocha Singh (52), son of Ch Shyamkeshwor Singh of Mayaikoibi Chabungbam Leikai from around 4:30 pm and recovered 86 litres of DIC liquor from them.

In another incident, a team of Patsoi Police intercepted one white Bolero (MN01AG 6938) driven by one Khwairakpam Thouba Singh (29), son of Kh Thambal Singh of Tairenpokpi Ching Taba and recovered 457 half litre bottles of DIC liquor from the vehicle during frisking and checking operation at Ngairangbam Maklang IVR around 3:45 am on Tuesday.

Imphal Police also seized 140 litres of DIC liquor from Lambulane and North AOC area on Tuesday.
