Bishnupur observes World TB Day

Bishnupur, April 26 2024:
As in other parts of world, National Tuber culosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) of District TB Center, Bishnupur and District Health Society, Bishnupur jointly observed the 43rd World Tuberculosis Day on the theme 'Yes we can end TB' at the relief camp set up at Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong on Friday.
The observance was attended by Bishnupur chief medical officer Dr L Raichandra, district TB officer Dr S Brojen and relief camp in-charge Kangabam Sobhachandra as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Artistes of Nokphade performed a ten-minute skit to make the public aware about the need for eradication of TB.
A comedy audio play produced by District TB office was also released as a part of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO Dr Raichandra informed that TB is a disease which can be cured easily if treated early along with emphasising on fitness and health consciousness to prevent contracting the disease.
He then assured that District Health Society will extend all possible help to the internally displaced people in availing benefits of the health schemes launched by the government.
