Farmers' training programme held at KVK Utlou

Along with distribution of winter crop seeds, a one-day farmers' training programme was held on Friday at KVK Utlou, focusing on increasing crop yields and achieving food self-sufficiency by utilising paddy fields after harvest for vegetable planting.
The training programme organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bishnupur under the aegis of Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Bishnupur at KVK Training Hall, Utlou was attended by KVK, Utlou subject matter specialists (horticulture) Dr P Bijiya and (agricultural extension) Dr A Tarajit Singh as presidium members.
Farmers from three blocks of Bishnupur district participated in the training programme, during which Dr P Bijiya informed that vegetable seeds were being distributed by the department to aid farmers grow vegetables in their paddy fields after the harvest of paddy crop.
This initiative aims to improve farmers' economic conditions by making better use of their land and increasing their income potential, she said.
