Discourse on 'Tricolour at Moirang' held

Imphal, June 13 2024:
A discussion session on the book, 'Tricolour at Moirang: An Apostle of Courage and Valour of the Indian National Army', co-authored by Hidam Ajit Meitei, Wakambam Dhiren Singh and Sukhdeva Sharma Hanjabam, was held at the Committee Room of the Manipur University's Vice Chancellor Office on Thursday.
Jointly organised by Manipur University, NG College (Naoremthong), Intellectual Forum of North East, Manipur and Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Manipur Prant, the discourse was attended by Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana national general secretary Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar as chief guest and MU vice chancellor Prof Naorem Lokendra as president while Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Manipur Prant Sanghchalak Prof Th Naranbabu Singh and NG College principal Ashok Roy Choudhury were guests of honour.
Speaking at the discussion, Prof Lokendra informed that the book has been produced based on an international seminar held at MU.
He informed that efforts are underway to release the second volume of the book, which is focussed on anti-British and anti-colonial movement, especially India's stand off with the British colonial masters under Subash Chandra Bose through the Indian National Army.
The book is also a first of its kind to highlight the importance of North East India and Naga Hills in Indian history, he said.
During the event, copies of the book were presented to all those who contributed various articles and presented papers.
