FOCS warns against immoral activities in Khongjom complex

Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur president Th Manihar has cautioned tourists not to indulge in immoral activities inside the Khongjom War Memorial Complex while adding that anybody found in such activities should beheld responsible for any unwanted consequences.
Speaking at the closing function of the mega social service camp organised by MPDF and FOCS, Thoubal district, with local clubs and public from December 15, 2024 onwards, held at Khongjom War Memorial Complex on Saturday, Manihar stated that the camp was organised in view of the sorry state of the historically important Complex with some people carrying out wrongful activities within the Complex.
He demanded that the state government, instead of doing cosmetic beautification of the Complex during Khongjom Day, should allocate a special package for upkeep of the Complex in the upcoming state assembly budget session.
Stating that after one month of the camp, the Complex has been thoroughly cleaned and beautified, Manihar appealed to the public to maintain the sanctity of the Complex and tourism department to focus on its regular upkeep.
He further urged the government to co-operate with the committee of the complex in resolving issues regarding the Complex that crop up from time to time.
