Aid extended to people in distress

Imphal, April 26 2024:
Kshetrimayum Yaima Memorial Trust, Imphal provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to singer Usham Nirjitkumar, who is facing dire situation after his right leg was amputated due to an infection and unable to speak.
A team of the Trust led by its chairperson Dr Kshetrimayum Subadani visited the singer's house at Yairipok Keithel on Friday and handed over the financial assistance along with food items.
On the other hand, Like Minded Group (LMG) Manipur reached out to the bereaved family of Khwairakpam Thoi of Thanga Ithing, who recently died after his boat capsized in the Loktak Lake during a thunderstorm.
The LMG team led by its secretary Ojit visited the bereaved family on Friday and handed over the assistance.
Meanwhile, Mashwara WhatsApp Group provided Rs 20,000 each to Md Aasim (16) son of late Rafique Ahmed of Lilong Kaleikhong Makha and Asharuddin Shajabam (49) of Keirang Mayai Leikai, who are bedridden due to some serious ailments.
Members of the group contributed the amount and handed over to the family members by visiting the families on Friday.
Following the instructions of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) minister Govindas Konthoujam, four booths of Oinam Nachou and Yuva Morcha on Friday distributed tin sheets to families whose houses were blown away by recent thunderstorm.
Led by Development Committee secretary Khwairakpam Ningthouremba, the team as a first phase handed over tin sheets to 14 families affected by the thunderstorm.
