'Annie's Cafe' aims to promote entrepreneurship

One Annie Mimi Guite, who left her job as an X-ray technician at Kangpokpi Christian Hospital to work as a full-time entrepreneur, has opened her business venture Annie's Cafe' at Nute Kailhang in Kangpokpi town.
Earlier, the 30-year-old Annie started making cakes for various occasions during the pandemic COVID-19 lockdown at her home at Leridou Veng which has become very popular in Kangpokpi town.
The Annie's Cafe was inaugurated on Friday by Chongthu Baptist Centre Church, Kangpokpi senior pastor Rev Athang Touthang in the presence of Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman Angam Leivon, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation president Hekim Hangshing and representatives of Kangpokpi Youth Union, senior citizen members, and others.
Annie Mimi has a very supportive father in Haosei Guite, who retired as deputy manager (scale) from the industries department, uncle Haokholen Guite, who is also from the cooperative department background, and her mother Lamboi Guite, a nursing sister in-charge.
Haosei Guite pointed out there are thousands of passed out students from high school level to graduate level every year but many remain unemployed as it is impossible for the government to provide jobs to every educated youth.
It has become imperative to encourage the government's initiative of promoting entrepreneurship among the youth for the economic growth of the state and as well as for their self-reliance, he said.
"I find my happiness in entrepreneurship not in another job," said Annie Mimi while urging her fellow educated unemployed youths to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and embark on it rather than completely depending on government jobs.
Annie's Cafe's menu consists of hot and cold beverages, teas, green teas, milkshakes, mock-tails, iced tea of different kinds, pastries, cookies, cheesecakes, pizza slices, burgers, sandwiches, pies, etc., at affordable prices.
