40th Hawkers' Day celebrated

Imphal, August 25 2021: The 40th Hawkers' Day was celebrated by All Manipur Hawkers' Association in a programme held at Kala Vidya Bhavan, Khurai Thongam Leikai on Wednesday.

The programme which was organised with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs was attended by Association's advisor Konsam Ibotomba, president Wangkhem Ajit and advisor Konsam Raghu as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, W Ajit noted that newspaper hawkers have been working selflessly during the Covid-19 pandemic period to deliver newspapers to the public.

The foundation day celebration has been organised in simple manner in view of the prevailing Covid pandemic, but in future the celebration will be organised on a grander scale, he said and assured that the newspaper distributors will continue to perform their services.

The celebration was marked by paying of floral tributes to the photos of late hawkers along with donation of blood at JNIMS Blood Bank by 30 members.
