Academy unrelated with Smart Society: Committee

Kakching, April 16 2022: School Management Committee of Smart Universal Academy, Sekmaijin Khunou has clarified that the school has no connection whatsoever with Smart Society or Salai Holdings and appealed to all concerned not to interfere in school activities.

Addressing media persons on Saturday at the school campus, Committee secretary Nongmaithem Sanjay said that the statement made through media by Smart Society regarding the school cannot be valid and appealed to the Society not to interfere in school's activities.

He also appealed to parents and guardians of the students not to belief Smart Society's media statement that a new school management committee has been formed and appointed a new principal as the school has no more connection with Smart Society or Salai Holdings.

The school management committee had signed an agreement with former Smart Society general secretary and Salai managing director Elangbam Brojendro on September 21, 2020 and accordingly the committee managed the school since then.

Local educationist Konthoujam Manihar also told media persons that the school was established in 1994 as Mik Bra-hint Junior High School but management of the school was handed over to Smart Society for some time and changed the name to Smart Universal Academy.

The school is now fully developed with enrolment of more students even from outside the state and management of the school is being carried out by School Management Committee since September 21, 2020 .

He also said that no one can interfere in management of the school and school management committee is ready to fight against any attempt to abolish the school in coordination with local people.
