After expulsion, chief spokesman berates BJP

Imphal, February 11 2022: BJP Manipur Pradesh chief spokesperson Ch Bijoy, who is always vocal of his stance on the activities of the party and its ideology, has been expelled from the party for a period of six years.

The party's state president A Sharda has issued an order in this regard on Friday.

The order stated that Bijoy has been expelled from the party for violation of party's rule and breach of discipline.

Meanwhile, addressing a press meet on Friday, Bijoy said that he received a copy of the order and he is not surprised by the order.

However, the allegation of breach of discipline is entirely wrong.

As per extant rules of the party, an explanation call should be served to him first and refer the matter to the state level discipline action committee if they think that he had breached the party's discipline.

The findings of the committee should be sent to the Central disciplinary action committee and it is a lengthy process.

The order was issued in vested interest by taking advantage of his statement of not giving his vote to BJP candidate in Uripok AC Raghumani, he opined.

Bijoy further said that he has been a member of BJP for the last 27 years no matter what the situation was.

The BJP in the state is no longer the BJP that followed the ideology of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and PM Modi.

The party has full of wolves in the guise of sheep and they are lurking.just to take opportunity.

BJP stood against corruption, black money and dynastic politics.

However, the party's condition in the state has become questionable in all these matters.

He is not against BJP but against the party's leadership in the state.

There are several original and hardcore BJP members, who are being sidelined by the new generation of party members and leaders.

The main reason behind his expulsion is his stance against corruption, black money and dynastic politics.

He was also denied party ticket for the same reason and many in power do not want to have a person like him in power, Bijoy claimed.

In response to a statement of chief minister N Biren regarding the party's decision on selection of candidates, Bijoy asked if he was part of the group who tried to pull down the government.

He had always tried to resolve any differences among the party members and alliance partners in order to protect the government, he said and enquired why he was denied the party ticket.

He endured the double standard nature of the state BJP for a long time but he could no longer remain silent, Bijoy maintained.

He also said that he will continue to work like a freelancer for the people of Uripok and state as well.

Bijoy further said that he will now support JD-U candidate in Uripok AC Kh Suresh.

However, he will take some time to decide on whether to join JD-U or not as he wants to file a case against BJP.

In the run up to the ensuing election, BJP used the intending candidates, who were in the race for the party's ticket, for increasing the party's strength.

The party also used their money for party activities and it is obvious for the intending candidates to criticise BJP when they were denied party ticket, he said.

BJP used to be a value and cadre based party but the present BJP in the state no longer respects its cadres.

The party used to honour retired party members in recognition of their contribution but today, the party no longer values such ideologies.

There are reports of the party's leadership accepting bribes in selection of party candidates and he will investigate the matter and bring out the evidence to the public.

The present BJP in the state has a culture of throwing out its members after utilising their services, he said and asked the dissatisfied members of BJP to leave the party.

JD-U candidate Kh Suresh welcomed the decision of Ch Bijoy and said that getting support of such political leader has brought him closer to electoral victory.
