Mangalleibi VLF office inaugurated

Former Union minister and Padmashri Th Chaoba Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the office of Mangalleibi Village Level Federation (VLF) at Utlou under Nambol CD block.
The programme organised by Mangalleibi VLF established under the aegis of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission, was attended by Th Chaoba Singh as chief guest and Federation president L Binashakhi Devi as president, while Utlou Gram Panchayat former up-pradhan M Ingocha Singh and cluster coordinator Anju Devi were present as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Th Chaoba stressed that more such VLFs should be made operational in other wards of Utlou and exhorted the villagers to avail free training being provided by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bishnupur located in Utlou.
On the other hand, Mangalleibi VLF secretary S Ranibala Devi stated that the Federation has been formed by 13 women self-help groups of Utlou GP Ward No 3 and 4 with 150 members.
The members have started generating income from selling handloom and handicraft products made by them.
If the government extends support to the VLF, then they are ready to diversify their business, she said.
